We offer a complete 3 step
wood flooring service
Step 1 – DESIGN
In our first consultation we will discuss:
• The importance of well thought-out design in keeping with the client’s aesthetic and what demands the space will have. For example is it for a heavy-wearing entrance or kitchen or a light-wearing bedroom?
• Advice on different types of wood species, including oak, pine, walnut or exotic wood
• Advice on different types of finish; either water-based lacquer, oiled or waxed and whether flooring should be pre-finished or have a bespoke on-site finishing process.
All finishes will be completed to the customer’s exact standards
• The different types of floor styles, for example new or reclaimed boards; or parquet in a herringbone, basketweave or Versailles pattern
• Panel samples will be supplied for final approval
Step 2 – INSTALL
• We will advise on different installation methods depending on sub-floor; whether this is floor boards, concrete/screed or underfloor heated. Installation includes floating on underlay, fully bonding using adhesive to suit the floor demands and secret fixing
• Advising on best practice to ensure a durable and long-lasting floor, following industry standards at all times
• Full service includes the removal of existing floor covering right through to being finished and ready-to-use
Step 3 – RESTORE
We will give you an introduction to the importance of wooden floor restoration and explain why it is a valuable option, for preserving the beauty and life-span of your wooden floor.
Options of restoration:
• Cleaning and maintenance: For dull floors with light surface scratches that haven’t broken the finish, we can recommend a deep clean or an extra coat of finish can be applied, subject to the level of wear and with a test area being completed
• Sanding: Most floors with a good wear layer can be sanded, stained and finished to bring them back to life. Our sanding methods are virtually dust free
• Repairs: Repairing an existing floor with the correct wood from a similar era is essential. With our vast knowledge of different wood species and reclaimed wood suppliers, we are able to make un-noticeable repairs
• The benefits of our restoration options are cost-effective and sustainable and they preserve the original character and charm of your existing floor
